(Sounds like recent history…) “it is necessary to expunge from the people’s minds a belief in the “good tsar,” in the all-powerful center, in the assumption that someone at the top will impose order and organize CHANGE.— Mikhail Gorbachev
For God so loved the world, he did not send a committee.
So, tonight, every news show dedicated some time to Anthony Wiener’s Weinergate story. Well, all except one. Lawrence O’Donnell spent nearly seven minutes scolding Bill O’Reilly’s coverage of Weinergate.
What I am about to say, I’ve said so many times it is almost becoming cliche’ on my facebook page, tumblr and twitter feeds. Liberals don’t defend their position, they respond with personal attacks.
How do I know this? I watch FOX News. On FOX News, the reporters, the commentators, and the guests tackle the issues at hand. On FOX News, you’d never know that CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC or ABC even exists. FOX doesn’t obsess with their competition. They may occasionally notice the extreme liberal bias of the other networks and about once a quarter they might remind us that for the 60th or so time they were the number one cable news network again. But, I digress…
How do I know liberals only have one response to everything? Well, on the rare event that I switch the channel to MSNBC, CNN or HLN (mostly MSNBC), I get overwhelmed with the amount of time these networks devote to attacking FOX. I am really quite astounded by it.
So, tonight, when I flipped over to The Last Word, I thought to myself, “Ok, Larry O’Donnell is really snide, arrogant and condescending. Let’s see what he thinks about Anthony Wiener.” Whoa, how dumb was I? O’Donnell wasn’t concerned with Weinergate, he was more concerned with O’Reilly.
O’Donnell’s take on Weinergate? O’Reilly is a hypocrite. O’Reilly should not be discussing this issue. Larry says that O’Reilly was once sued for sexual harassment and did horrible things. Let us remember that O’Reilly settled without ever admitting any wrongdoing. The O’Reilly scandal boiled down to this: he said/she said. We will never know if the allegations were true. We do know that many celebrities are prone to these allegations and our legal system makes settling the preferred choice versus going to trial.
I said all that to say this: In Weinergate, we will know what really happened with proof, if an investigation goes forward. Twitter, like most websites, records the IP address of all activity. Twitter holds this information in strict confidence unless subpoenaed. So, Anthony Wiener has a very clear motive to just want this to go away. He knows a full investigation could lead right back to his home office or wherever he goes to snap pictures of his junk. Now, some of you are saying…wait, you’re making some assumptions. Yes, I am. I am assuming he has or does take pictures of his junk. I make this assumption because if he didn’t take pictures of his junk, he would know without a doubt that those pictures are not him. As it is, he cannot say with certitude that those pics aren’t him.
Alright, so back to the original topic. If you argue with a liberal, expect personal attacks. If you comment on an important story of the day, MSNBC will respond with direct attacks at you!
There is another thing liberals do in arguments. They shift the focus. Instead of defending their guy, Anthony, they say “Yeah, but (insert Republican/Conservative name) did it too…” Lawrence O’Donnell manages to use both tactics at once. Here’s how:
O’Reilly argument: “Wiener looks suspicious, he is spinning out of control”
O’Donnell personal attack: “Bill O’Reilly is a hypocrite.”
O’Donnell “yeah, but” attack: “Bill O’Reilly has a sexual scandal too.”
So, all you conservatives out there, watch out for these attacks. From now on, when you argue with a liberal, call them out on this. Don’t let them get away with it. Force them to respond to the REAL issue. If you say the deficit is out of control under President Obama, don’t you dare let them get away with saying “Bush started it.” Right now, today, in 2011, it is about Obama and the failing liberal agenda.

The sun today made me think of this song. Praise the Lord!
Raise one of your arms. Hold that arm out in front of you and bend it at the elbow in a right angle; then bend your flat palm forward (down) at another right angle, so that your arm resembles a cobra standing erect. Bend your other arm the opposite way, with your forearm pointing down and your flat palm pointing behind you. Stand up straight. Take small, stiff steps forward. If there is music, strut along to the beat. “walk” staring ahead, in a regular but stiff motion.Although it’s now immediately familiar to many of us, the “Walk like an Egyptian” pose, strut, or dance isn’t really authentic. It’s a 20th century creation, made popular by the Bangles in their 1986 hit of the same name, and other performers, including comedians. Egyptology experts say the Egyptians never walked that way, and no evidence of such a walk exists on ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. But with all kinds of stylized pop “Egyptian” images featuring the stiff, arms-forward pose, most of us are not going to be inclined to believe the experts, proving that visual and verbal reinforcement can be much stronger than fact.
